Iceberg Lettuce

Iceberg lettuce belongs to the leafy vegetables group and comes from the United States of America. It is very compact and tightly wrapped. Its light green leaves are firm and crispy.

There are different varieties that at first glance, don’t seem to be very similar. It is grown and sold domestically from June to September and is imported during the winter months.  When purchasing iceberg lettuce, make sure that the head and leaves feel firm.  When kept well packaged and refrigerated, iceberg lettuce can be kept longer than other lettuces.

Season: From April to November
